                        Projects All of the
projects detailed on the other project pages are ongoing
projects that we are involved in annually, but in addition
to these projects, we also do special projects that typically
only happen once or twice. 2008: Mexico
Mattress ProjectOn a trip to a children's home in Tepecoa, Mexico in 2007,
members of the Foundation were moved by the conditions
that the children were living in and talked with administrators
about a way to improve their situation. After much prayer
we felt led to raise money to provide new mattresses to
every child in the home. The response to this project
was overwhelming and we were not only able to provide
the mattresses, but to were also able to provide mattresses
to a second children's home, and members of the Foundation
were a part of the team that delivered the mattresses.
 2009: Carmi
Children's Home RenovationsIn the summer of 2009 the Foundation helped to raise over
$5,000 for the Baptist Children's Home in Carmi, IL. Renovations
were badly needed for one of the cottages and we offered
to help raise the money. We were able to raise enough
money to repair the roof and repaint the rooms.
 2010: Du
Quoin Swimming Pool RenovationsThe Harris Family Christian Foundation recently made a
donation of $10,000 to the Du Quoin Swimming Pool for
much needed renovations to the restrooms. The pool is
a popular summer activity for local children and families,
as well as serving as the home of the Swimming Indians.
Low income families can also make use of the pool for
little or no cost. The renovation has started and is ongoing
